A Message from Acting Principal Nolan Grady

New Cristo Rey Jesuit Seattle Families

We are thrilled to welcome you and your student to the Cristo Rey Jesuit Seattle (CRJS) community! The journey toward a transformative high school experience begins with Montserrat, our required summer program for all incoming 9th graders and 10th grade transfer students from July 13-31, 2026.

Montserrat: Summer Bridge is more than a simple orientation—it is an essential foundation for your student’s success at CRJS. Over the course of the summer, students will build the skills they need to thrive in both our rigorous college-preparatory academics and our groundbreaking corporate work study program.

This program is graded and should be treated like any other class. Students are expected to actively participate, complete assignments, and demonstrate the professionalism and responsibility that will be expected of them throughout their high school journey.

Important Montserrat Expectations:

  • Full Attendance Is Mandatory for incoming 9th graders and 10th grade transfer students: Students must attend every day of Montserrat. Absences are not permitted, except in true emergencies. If an emergency arises, a parent/guardian must contact CWS staff immediately. Unexcused absences may result in a student being withdrawn from CRJS.

  • Punctuality Matters: CRJS doors open for a light breakfast at 8:30AM.  Students must check in by 8:45AM. Any arrival at or after 8:45AM will be marked as tardy. Two or more tardies may jeopardize your student’s ability to complete the program.

  • Uniform Policy: Uniforms are required by the start of Montserrat (July 13). Students must be in full CRJS uniform, with the exception of the blazer and tie. We encourage families to place uniform orders by May 1 to ensure they arrive in time for Montserrat. More than one dress code violation will result in a meeting with CWS staff and could impact a student’s standing at CRJS.

  • No Supplies Needed: All necessary materials and supplies will be provided to students. Students do not need to bring anything for the program on July 13th.  After July 13th, Students are expected to bring their CRJS bag, water bottle, and binder every day.

We know this transition is significant, and we’re here to partner with you every step of the way. Montserrat is the first step in preparing your student not just for high school, but for college and career success. By committing to this program, your student is joining a community rooted in Jesuit values, academic excellence, and real-world readiness.

Thank you for being part of this exciting beginning. We look forward to seeing you soon—and to all that lies ahead for your student at Cristo Rey Jesuit Seattle.

Montserrat transportation pick up and drop-off times and locations are TBD. We will update you with more information as soon as possible.
