CRJS Hosts First-Ever Naming Ceremony: Celebrating Vision, Legacy, and Leadership

CRJS Hosts First-Ever Naming Ceremony: Celebrating Vision, Legacy, and Leadership

On Friday, May 16, Cristo Rey Jesuit Seattle hosted a historic our first-ever Naming Ceremony—honoring the incredible generosity and lasting impact of the Jergens and Frazier families.

In a heartfelt gathering with family, friends, and CRJS leadership, we celebrated two families whose commitment, leadership, and vision helped bring Cristo Rey Jesuit Seattle to life. Their influence is now beautifully woven into the fabric of our campus, with spaces named in their honor to inspire future generations.

Thanks to the generosity of the East Seattle Foundation Trustees, the newly named Jergens Conference Room in the lower level of the S Building now stands as a testament to Tom Jergens' craftsmanship and enduring legacy. Just outside its doors, the East Seattle Foundation Patio pays tribute not only to Tom but also the partnership and generosity to the Frazier family. Fittingly, the Patio looks out on Mercer Island, home to the East Seattle Foundation!

Honoring Tom Jergens

For over four decades, Tom Jergens has been a highly-regarded Seattle craftsman and legacy homebuilder. His

steady hand and generous spirit have shaped both homes and institutions—including Cristo Rey Jesuit Seattle.

As a founding member of our Building Committee, Tom has guided campus development since 2022. He introduced CRJS to our architects at Public47, helped select and master-plan our St. Paul campus, and even rebuilt the floor of what is now the Jergens Conference Room. Tom also gifted the committee its official prayer—reminding us that faith and mission go hand in hand.

Honoring the Frazier Family

From the earliest days, the Frazier family has believed in the promise of Cristo Rey Seattle. Alan Frazier co-led our Feasibility Study fundraising committee and, along with Mary, Joanna, and Natalie, has remained a dedicated advocate for our mission.

Andrew Frazier serves on the Finance Committee and helped prepare the East Seattle Foundation Patio—personally power-washing decades of grime! Andrew's wife, Samantha Dittman Frazier, co-founded our “Next Gen” Committee, rallying young professionals to support CRJS through service, giving, and word-of-mouth.

A Legacy That Inspires

This Naming Ceremony marks more than a moment of gratitude—it reflects the spirit of shared vision and lasting generosity that propels Cristo Rey Jesuit Seattle forward. As our school continues to grow, we are reminded that every corner of our campus holds the potential to carry the name of someone whose belief in our mission can help shape the future.

We are deeply grateful to the Jergens and Frazier families for leaving a lasting mark on CRJS—and for reminding us all of the powerful legacy one can build when they invest in the promise of young people.
